As we continue…

Surprisingly enough I struggled writing this journal entry amongst the turbulence going on within my life. Between getting older and trying to get a grip on my health the past few months after releasing phase 1 of R.010 life felt like hell; much needed time to pause and reset. Many changes have happened in my life since - routine, scrapped ideas that were revamped, new goals & new equipment.
Further more as I gear up to release phase II of R.010; a phase with a little bit more edge and ruggedness I’m thankful for these times mainly for the experimentation of it all. Many don’t know that I was hands on throughout this whole project mixing and mastering everything (lord give me strength). It’s already enough being the director that I am trying to bring my vision to life but man this was a beautiful experience bringing it back to the basics.

Age is a beautiful thing - much time reflecting on past relationships, what more I want for myself, my art and how far I want to take things in times of so much change… this is the most grounded I’ve been in my entire life and I don’t want anyone or anything getting in the way of my goals or joy. I still have a strong hate for capitalism and the patriarchy but liberation is the focus (I’ll expound more in the future).
In the midst of gratitude I’m thankful for those of you who’ve supported me along the way let alone given me a chance. The listen, the purchase, the time - just choosing me in any capacity is a pure blessing that I’m grateful for. It’s hard even being heard where I’m from let alone paving my own way; it’s been brick after brick on this journey of growth as I try to take things further.
Some folks will only be interested in your magic when they can benefit from it while others will honor and respect it for what it truly is.
Those that honor it… thank you.
Side note: speaking of health and changes I’ve been reading ‘My Infamous Life: The Autobiography of Prodigy’. Every book that I read seems to highlight a certain phase of my life but I will say other than Prodigy being a big inspiration to me as an artist reading this book knowing the trials and tribulations he’s dealt with and still choosing to move forward is definitely putting a battery in my back.
